The Allergology Department of the Hospital General Nuestra Señora del Prado (Talavera, Spain) has issued a press release to advise consumers to remain vigilant against the anisakis parasite during summer, when more fish and shellfish is consumed.
Seventy anisakiasis cases detected in the last two months (ES)
Seventy people from the Basque Country suffered anisakiasis in the last two months, after consuming anchovies and other raw fishes infected with the anisakis parasite, according to the Health Service. About one third of them had to be admitted in a hospital.
